Funeral Mass guidelines.

We urge our parishioners to call the parish (916-786-5001) if someone is critically ill and in need of the sacraments.
We are grateful to the dedicated volunteers of our parish Homebound and Hospital Ministry who make sure that elderly and sick parishioners are visited on a regular basis either at home or in a health care facility.

We urge any of our parishioners who feel that they are having any kind of personal crisis to never hesitate in contacting one of our Oblates of St. Joseph priests either here at the parish (916-786-5001) or at Mount St. Joseph in nearby Loomis.

      Monthly "Family Mass."

The Family Mass (formerly referred to as the Children's Liturgy) is designed to offer children K-8 the opportunity to participate in the Mass celebration. Children (K-8) interested in participating in the Family Mass should arrive in church at 10:00am. Prior to the Mass, volunteers will introduce songs to review and identify children to assist with readings, the offering, presenting the gifts, and distributing the bulletin. The children, accompanied by our volunteers, will be seated in a reserved area in the Church and will return to their parents at the conclusion of Mass.
Donuts and fellowship in the overflow room will also be offered immediately following Mass. We have received an outpouring of interest and support for this program.
The Family Mass is held on the third Sunday each month.
If you are interested in volunteering to assist with the program, please contact Linda Denly at

14th Annual Way of the Cross

You are invited to join us in downtown Sacramento for the 14th Annual Way of the Cross on Good Friday, April 18th, beginning at 9:00am in Crocker Park (at the corner of N and 3rd).
The Way of the Cross, a traditional Catholid procession recalling the suffering and death of Jesus Christ, includes gospel reading, choral music, and readings from Giussani, Claudel and Peguy.
For more information, please visit or contact Daniel Patterson at 916.601.6038.

It has been said that the greatest gift you can give your children is two parents very much in love with each other.
If you would like to enrich the communication in your marriage, consider attending a Worldwide Marriage Encounter Weekend.

Ever notice how all-natural things are often the best? Many people these days are trying to get back to a healthier, more natural way of living. The Creighton Model FertilityCare System offers you a natural yet reliable way to achieve your family planning goals to achieve a pregnancy without artificial chemicals or devices. It is completely safe and scientifically proven, and it is also in harmony with the teachings of the Church. To register or obtain more information, call Mercy Women's Center at 916-614-2216.

The Mother-Daughter programs explore God's special gift of human fertility and the beauty and wonder of God's plan for growing up and becoming a woman. The Teen (13-16) and Tween (10-12) programs cover similar subject matter while differing in depth and scope. Visit for more information about program locations, time and content, or to register.

Make Sundays complete for someone you love who cannot get to church. Please share the news about "My Sunday Mass" on TV: 9:30am on KSPX Channel 29.
Prayer intentions from viewers, uplifting homilies, a Prayer for Spiritual Communion, and closed captioning make "My Sunday Mass" a time of spiritual comfort.

Please note:
If you are able to attend church, TV or online liturgy does not meet the Sunday Mass obligation.

Mount St. Joseph Seminary

Mount St. Joseph is well known to all our parishioners and friends. Located at 6530 Wells Avenue in Loomis (and the home of the Marello Youth Retreat Center), it is where future priests and brothers of the Oblates of St. Joseph prepare for ministry in the Church. Visit their website at to view their calendar of events, including Mass times.

Pray for Vocations ... Let us pray daily that the Lord will send His holy Church many vocations, men and women who will devote their entire life to the worship of the Lord and to the service of His holy people as priests, brothers and sisters. Pray that all those called will be able to discern the Lord's will for them and then have the courage to follow with love and zeal. Pray for vocations from our parish!

See a video of Brother Sergio Perez, O.S.J.:

Please join us the first Thrusday of every month at Mount St. Joseph, 6530 Wells Avenue, Loomis, in the Oblates of St. Joseph seminary chapel.
Parishioners are invited to join us as together we pray to the "Lord of the Harvest" to touch the hearts of our young people and have them consider giving themselves completely to Christ as a priest, religious brother/sister, or permanent deacon.

We pray in a special way for the Oblates of St. Joseph religious congregation, the Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist, and the Diocese of Sacramento.

Please pray every day that young men and women hear and respond generously to the Lord's call to the priesthood, diaconate, and religious life. Within your own family, support and encourage vocations to the consecrated life. Talk to your children and grandchildren of their role in God's plan.
