High School Teens

Through the LifeTeen ministry of our parish, teens are given opportunities to grow in their faith. They will discover the hope of Jesus in themselves and each other. We bring faith, hope and love to teens in a way that speaks directly to them and what they are experiencing in their own world. For some, it has kept them on their walk with Christ; for others, it has been a profound experience, and it has helped them discern God's call. With their hunger for truth, their need to experience God's love and their yearning for acceptance, these opportunities for spiritual growth and discovery are essential in ministering to today's youth. We welcome all high school teens to our Life Teen ministry.

September through mid-May (click the Calendar of Parish Events link on the home page to confirm dates each week).
We invite all high school teens to join us each Sunday at 5:00pm for a Mass with a message and music directed to our teens. Our program of activities will follow from 6:00pm to 7:30pm. A light dinner and refreshments will be provided.

Teens must submit TWO forms to register for Life Teen: a Permission Form for the Diocese of Sacramento AND a registration form. Both forms can be downloaded here, or contact our parish office (786-5001) and forms will be sent to you. Mail the forms to our parish office (7200 Auburn Folsom Road, Granite Bay, CA 95746) or drop them in the collection basket at weekend Masses.

First Reconciliation and Eucharist are celebrated at the end of 2nd grade. Please be aware that this is a two0year preparation course. Enrollment is expected during both years of this preparation time period.

Children in grades 3, 4 and 5 preparing for the Sacraments are expected to attend The ROCK with their grade appropriate classmates. They are required to attend a 6 week Sacramental preparation course during the class time, and pass a course review.

The ROCK ("Religious Outreach to Catholic Kids") is a unique faith formation ministry of St. Joseph Marello Parish. Children learn our Catholic faith in a fun and gentle environment. Love and knowledge of our faith is shared with the children who are taught through methods they can truly enjoy. We use a hands-on approach, including music, stories, crafts, skits and games to teach the lessons. We share the Gospel, prayer and Catholic traditions, and we encourage Catholic community awareness, including knowledge of other Catholic kids. Parents, it's time for you to consider the level of your own involvement. Volunteer to assist at the ROCK. Prepare to secure your child's position in our ministry.
